Barolo & Barbaresco Academy announces the first three Langhe Wine Ambassadors

From 19 to 21 May 2023 at the Castle of Grinzane Cavour the final chapter of the highest training course on Langa wines was staged with the election of the first Langhe Wine Ambassadors

117 students, from 20 different countries, took part in the first five editions of the first level in presence, and 21 students registered for the online edition: a precious community of operators and professionals and experts connoisseurs of Langa wines. 15 were the first students to complete the exclusive training with the second level by taking the demanding test consisting of 60 multiple choice questions and a second selection phase with a final thesis on the impact of climate change on Langa wines.

To confirm the high level of preparation of the students, the commission has chosen to appoint three of Langhe Wine Ambassadors II Level that will collaborate directly with Consorzio di Tutela and Strada del Barolo: Elena Barattini (Great Britain), Chieko Hirano (Italy/ Japan) and Serge Leveque (France/ Canada/ Italy) whose term papers have distinguished themselves for their particular level of depth, technical-scientific preparation and communicative style.
